My drive to work this morning with a slight detour

So I was running a little late this morning. Hopped into the '64 Beetle ('cuz that's how I roll) and of course it fired right up. VROOOM! Off I sped to work. I didn't get far at all before I realized that UH OH! I was very low on gas. No problem, plenty of gas to make it to Duncan Junction, a little gas station/grill that's about six miles from my house and only very slightly out of my way. So I putt along, doo dee doo... right by the spot where I need to go out of my way to get to Duncan Junction... I realize I forgot to stop for gas about 2-3 miles further down the road. Uh oh, now I'm REALLY out in the middle of nowhere and the gas needle is just buried. Dead empty. I don't panic because I have my cell phone with me and could always call my wife to bring me some gas, but today is her day off and I'd have to wake her up and it's not a pretty picture when she gets woken up early... The tension begins to mount... I come to an intersection where I normally go left to go to work but there ain't no way in hell I have enough gas to go that way. Hmm... I've never gone straight through this intersection before... I think it leads into Holly Springs... and maybe there's a gas station there. So I figure I'll give it a shot. I cross the intersection and soon realize I'm entering a neighborhood. 35 mph speed limit. Hmm... Not looking good. Gas needle still dead. So I'm driving down the road at about

35 mph or so, looking all around me because I've never been here before. I start to drive up a slight incline... when suddenly... THE ROAD ENDS!!! No sign at all to indicate that there is literally a 90 degree turn in the road at the top of the hill. And guess what's off on the side of the road in case you don't know you have to turn right? Yep, you guessed it. A FLIPPIN' CEMETERY. Dead bodies everywhere. I crest the hill and see gravestones everywhere and no pavement!!! SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!!!!! I lock up the brakes and go sliding off of the road (seriously) into a FRIGGIN' CEMETERY!!!! Not my first guess of where I'd be first thing on a Monday morning. Flat empty on gas in a 43 year old car parked in a cemetery. The smoke cleared from around the car and an eerie silence fell over the land. That's when I dropped it into reverse, nailed the gas and dumped the clutch. SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!! Burned rubber out of the cemetery back onto the road and got the hell out of there. Somehow the car just kept going and going with no gas at all in it and I made it to a Kangaroo gas station. Phew! That was close. The rest of the drive in was uneventful except for the part where I turned off of Davis Drive onto Kitt Creek Road a little too fast and the whole car tipped up over onto two wheels, almost flipping over. This is going to be an interesting week. I need coffee.

Good to hear you are ok. Perhaps now is a good time to look at the rear ride height? Wink wink, nodd nodd. ;-)

(Unless you stealthy have rectified the issue?).
