OT: So the US is using VW Bugs in the Missile Defense!?!

"...The Americans plan to share the technology with these countries in a bid to have allies cooperate in shooting down missiles aimed either at their own nations or North America.

By the end of 2004 the U.S. will have 10 defensive missiles -- each about the size of a Volkswagen bug -- in California and Alaska..."

So he almost spilled the beans... that they are actually using VW Bugs, and Great Big Rubber Bands... and will fling the Bugs at the incoming missiles.

On US Navy Battleships, there were two sizes of rounds, that they shot from their "BIG" guns. (16", I think).

The smaller ones they called VWs, the larger ones Chevy 2s.

Not sure of the round specifics, though. Maybe one of the squids lurking around here knows.
