Hello Ramva-ites.... I made an engine adaptor years ago to put a vw engine on a standard roll around stand... didn't use it often as I always seemed to use a milkcrate(let the head studs set down through the openings) until it was to shortblock status, then install the flywheel.. .then I'd set the shortblock on the flywheel on the bench to get it to longblock status... then set it on the sump to finish...

I saw a thread on thesamba awhile back about an engine adaptor that was for sale... Glenn Ring posted his review of it when he purchased... Looked like a nice piece. I bought one last sunday and it arrived on last thursday... nice piece... I modified it by welding the adaptor to the engine support because I have modified my engine stands with a large nut and bolt so i can lock them in any position....

anyway, nice piece and a decent price... check them out if you are in the market for one. vw alley is the ebay name, and the company goes by VintageWorldTools on thesamba.
