...what I AND the courts KNOW you owe me. =-)) Here you go with that childish bullshit again.... Its bad enough you have gone around town trying to get people to believe I'm gay, now you are starting here to. It didn't work in town, and I doubt it will work here. I am not really going to deign to respond to that ridiculous desperate schoolboy ploy, other than to say....grow the hell up. As far as costing you....costing you?? Please remove your cranium from your anal cavity and examine your records of the last two years. hOW MANY CARS DID YOU PAINT LAST YEAR....HMMM....5? My mechanical work paid to keep the shop afloat...plain and simple. I worked 6 day weeks for $100-200 a week. If you think I owe you anything, then present your case in court. I DID and YOU LOST!!! You say you live up to your responsibilities. Please prove that by returning my tools, carbs, tail lights, etc. and paying me back the money you owe me, and were mandated to return. BTW, I see you sold John C's car off as well....you sold all his parts....doesn't sound like a man "living up to responsibilities" to me. And, what about the judgement against you in December....the one where you were ordered to vacate the property at 420 west holt street and pay court costs?? I was by there the other day....looked like there were still 20+ cars the landlord has to deal with on that property...and he laughed when I asked if he had been paid any rent...or even been paid back the court costs since december. Living up to responsibilities.....what a joke.....

I'll stay out of this argumuent but I have to comment on this one part:
20+ cars? VWs? And the landlord needs to "deal with" (get rid of) them? And he apparenlty doesn't care about the cars? And he wants some money? And probably doesn't really care if sells a $1000 car for $100? Hmmm..... *scratches chin thoughtfully* It's 6:19am right now. Nobody awake in the house except for me. I'm bored. I know where 420 West Holt Street is.... Hmmm.....-- Travis (Shaggie) '63 VW Camo Baja...

back ontopic(because *I* NEVER go off topic)....Mario, *I* think if the porsche wheels are wider than about six inches wide, you will have to change to a smaller diameter strut...like the "Maxx" strut...may have to anyway depending on the offset of the wheels in question...if you can't talk the good doctor into the aftermarket struts for handling purposes, then you will have to check out a "eurolook" or "germanlook"type of forum where the participants are much more experienced with this conversion...Shoptalkforums has such a forum...but when you go there you will need to give more info then you gave here...the style of the rim, and look at the rim, they should have to offset marked on the backside somewhere...those fellows are pretty good and can tell you if you will need spacers to fit the particular wheel to the car to keep them from rubbing on the inner fenders....good luck...
everyone has a little mind....but put a lot of little minds together and you have a wonderful and HUGE resource like this particular group...obviously you recognize that or you would never have posted your question... J

OK, I lied. I thought I knew where West Holt Street was. I was thinking it was downtown Raleigh but I guess not. Maybe the shop in Mebane? Anyway, I wound up driving around downtown Raleigh for a little bit until I saw a Transporter Werks van and followed it to the Transporter Werks shop. I met a guy there named Gary who tells me he also works at T-Hoffs, a local VW parts shop that has gotten rich off of selling axle boots to me. He seemed really nice. I helped them set up a bunch of stuff for a yard sale thing they're having today and Gary and I exchanged numbers so we could get together to go offroading. He showed me his "frog" he had. I think he said it has an 1835 and he guesses the weight of the whole thing at about 900 pounds. Looks like it would be FUN to drive! Dangit! I had my camera with me. I should have taken a picture of it! Oh well, maybe I can take some pictures of it when we go offroading. We talked a little bit about the Gary/Mario situation and I heard what I usually do whenever it comes up. He wishes Gary well and said to tell him hi, and let me know that Mario already knows he's not welcome at Transporter Werks anymore since he pulled his same old tricks there. Take the money and run. Seems to be his way of doing things, and it's not leaving a pretty path behind him.

see this is how it gets started the story with transporter works is I did work for shawn and never got paid I also did work on his 60 westy that I was going to get a 67 westy in trade, never got that .
But hey I'm starting to feel like Rodman of the VW world, Hate me if you want it doesn't change the fact that I'm very good at restoring VW's and that my costomers walk away happy. but whats the worst that can happen I have to go to work at a regular bodyshop and then have time to work on my own cars and I might have a little money, its not like I'm getting rich. so far not one of the restorations has cost the owner 10k, sounds like I'm ripping people off huh.

Well to be honest with you, yes. That's exactly what it sounds like from everyone I've talked to *except* you. Now that I think about it, though, you're probably right. Even though *everybody* who has dealt with you that I've spoken with says you're basically a crook, it's probably all of *them* who are the crooks and liars, and you're just a swell guy. Yeah, that makes sense. Mario, you probably *do* do good work but that doesn't give you the right to screw over as many people as it sounds like you have. People get a reputation like yours for a reason. Look, I don't and won't do business with you so I couldn't really care less what you do. I just think that you are a "bad person" for screwing people over on the money you owe them. The judge that told you that you're now required by law to pay Gary was made a judge for a reason. (S)He is a good "judge" of what is right and what is wrong. They judged you to be wrong and Gary to be right. Not only do you try to weasel out of paying him, but then you start slamming him calling him names. Grow up and take some responsibility for your actions and do the right thing. Yeah, I know I said I wouldn't get in the middle of this argument. Sue me.

Let us know how you get on Travis
I think the dirty laundry has now been dragged out for all to see, and has been seen by most by now. It's about time to let this thread die. It's no longer about fitting 16" wheels on a super beetle. This isn't going anywhere.
If the nonsense continues, (in this or any other thread) I will have to consider deleting messages as discussed earlier. Wouldn't want to do that, since I consider everyone invloved to be my friend.
About 16" wheels: I would imagine that there are people with that exact experience in the STF forums, especially the Euro Look forum.

...apparently, in this case, you do not. Had you thought, even for a minute, you might come to the realization that the exposure of unscrupulous business practices, and disregardment of paying debts by an owner of a business specializing in VW repair and restoration might be necessary in this public forumn. You might notice, had you thought about it, that the allegations were brought out AFTER a successful court judgement. You might even have THOUGHT of the reprecussions of not voicing this information. You MIGHT have even thought that bringing to light a dishonest businessman, would save others in the VW community the chance to be taken advantage of. These are things one might have thought of....had one thought.
