Geez .... just the cap only? .... is it gold plated? ... that sounds like a price for a whole dizzy .... IIRC, a dist. cap, rotor and coil for my S10 Blazer was only about $35 total a few months ago and it only took me about

10 minutes to swap the parts out.

doesn't really sound that out of line to me(not that *I* want to pay that) but for reference, my wifes "backup ride" is an 87 BMW and it has a "distributor cap", but no distributor....confused yet?,,,you should be...LOL....the rotor button bolts to the end of the overhead camshaft(more or less) and the cap covers it...the timing is computer controlled, there for no advancing distributor is needed....anyway, since i can't seem to make a short story any longer, the cap and rotor button are a bit over 100 bucks... J

......................That's not a terrible price for a new distributor. I paid Aircooled.Net $120 for my SVDA earlier this year. A total bill for $500 installed doesn't sound right. Maybe there's more work getting done than just that.
