replacing sunroof cover - '63 Bug

Howdy folks,



I've got a '63 sunroof Bug and the cover needs replacing. Just wondering how hard this job is and how many of you guys have done it? Any tips or hints? The car is anthracite (gray), and I was also wondering what color cover to use? Any suggestions? I've narrowed it to maroon, dark gray, or black. The interior on the car is red, so I figured the maroon cover would look nice. Also, any comments on vinyl vs. canvas? Thanks for any feedback or suggestions!

Hey Dan, have you seen an exploded view of all of the components of a two-fold rag on the net anywhere? My ragtop in-a-box project car has all the things (I think) but I've no idea how it all attaches to the vinyl itself. I don't remember seeing any straps :o(

No, the top was in a box along with the sunroof cover not on the car :o( I think I have all of the stuff seen here:

No nyloncovers on the bow tips though. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I cometo it :o) Could always be a fair weather runner Thanks for the help,
