If I have a 73 VW standard Beatle and a 73 standard Thing and they are both in the same condition (doesn't matter what condition you pick) which is worth more?

depends on the buyer... someone that is interested in the standard beetle wouldn't see the thing as being valuable and vice versa.... but to the intended buyer, usually the thing will bring a couple bucks more....
A tad more than 50,000 Things were sold in the US from 73-74 (plus a sprinkling of 75s) while there were still more than 100,000 Beetles sold in
1973 alone. Things have remained fairly low priced despite their small production numbers. Andy

I can understand a nice Thing commanding a premium but most of the ones I've seen for sale have ben fair at best. My first car was a 74 Thing in 1979. Had 40k on it and had no reverse. Awesome first car! Andy
