Anybody try one of those 2" VDO tachometers? Along the way of replacing my oil pressure gage, I installed a 3 hole gage panel over were the old speaker hole was. I had to do a bit of cutting with my dremmel tool and went through almost a whole pack of those tiny cutoff wheels but it fits well and looks good. I put a bead of silicone sealer around it before I bent over the mounting tabs and it's now the best looking part of the interior. Hopefully the silicone sealer will keep it from buzzing. I don't expect anything to keep air from coming through the dash...
I've always wanted a tach in this car but I never could justify it before or find a good place for one. The new balanced and blue printed engine revs much quicker and I'd like to know what it's doing. Anyway I don't see a better place to put one and I'd like to hear comments on the usefulness of the 2" tach before I blow 60 bucks on one...
