Thanks speedy jim, and a front end removal tale.

Reading Jims description of how to remove a front beam, I convinced myself saving the 1960s front end before it goes to the crusher was a good idea. Basically it has zero free play, steers solidly when pushed around LOL.

So let me rephrase Jim:

-disconnect brake lines

-disconnect steering coupler

-remove tie rod ends

-six bolts and it falls off

Let me tell you, Jim left out some important instructions:

-When lifting a rusted out car, pieces of it will fall.

-When removing the tie rod ends, you will find there are 2 missing nuts, and those that are there, are rusted as hell and takes an hour to remove them. The tie rods themselves then won't come off, so you leave them for later.

-When removing the passenger side bolts, the one attaching the body to the beam won come off, and the other 2 wii take an hour to remove.

-when you only have half an hour to go, you decide to try and remove one more bolt and witness in shock, the drivers side bolts came out in 5 minutes. All 3.

-You decide to try once more to remove the pass side top bolt, as it looks like its the only bolt still holding, and the body breaks and the whole thing is now held only by the right side tie rod.

-After trying for half an hour to remove the tie rod, you stand up to leave, and when you start to clean the tools, the beam falls off by itself.

Beam is now in intensive degrase, pictures tomorrow.
