Where am I?

....Is this RAMVA or am I still lost and confused?

...Seriously.....RoadRunner pulled the plug on their news-server here in upstate NY almost a month ago and I'm just now reaching a level of desperation that has made register as a google groups groupie to get back on here. Has anyone else around the country experienced a roadrunner blackout for USENET?

Anyway.....wassup?

I had to switch to Google groups back when AOL got rid of news groups. I have Roadrunner now and have used Google groups since leaving AOL. Not related to Usenet, but Roadrunner's e mail service is not all that great. I guess the reason that they are dropping the newsgroups is that they are not as popular as they were 6 or 7 years ago.

There are public newsservers that you could use. Both Tera News and Read Free News carry this group. Connection can be spotty though, so I suggest using a newsreader that can pull from multiple servers at once, such as Forte's Agent.

Nope. My ISP (cableone) still has a news server.... and it works just fine. it currently still has 70592 headers (posts) still available for me to read.

has worked great for me for many years, for I think 10 bucks a year. It does not carry the ALT groups however. (I lost my animation group, and with it, the interest)
