I want a bike rack for my roof. What's the best option in your opinion?

We have the Volvo roof rack and four Thule bike racks for our 960 wagon... Two bikes can go on the roof of the car, two on the roof of our tent trailer... If we made some bar extensions on the roof rack we could probably squeeze all four onto one roof, but instead we got a hitch mounted rack as well, for when we're not towing, but want more then 2 bikes.
