I'm In Love... Please Help!

The object of my affection is the 2004 Volvo C70 convertible. I currenly drive a '99 Sebring convetible. Lots of room, good power, OK handling (could use a major suspension upgrade). I haven't seen any posts here from Volvo convertible owners - are there any here?



Also, I gotten conflicting stories on the fate of the convertible: A Volvo factory rep told me the the '05 will be a hardtop. The saleman on the test drive said the convertible will be gone from the '05 line and come back in '06 as a hardtop.



Anybody know the real deal?

The C70 is based on the old 850 platform from the early '90s. It's not a very good convertible chassis, not anywhere near stiff enough. Also, at least on the early ones, the top is a nightmare, many have required expensive repairs. And you don't see too many posts simply because there aren't very many sold. Although I have to admit that they do look pretty good. From what I hear this is the last year for the C70, the next convertible in '06 will be based on one of the newer platforms.
