Ipod adapter for Volvo V70

Is there an adapter to connect Ipod to my 1999 V70 Volvo? I already have a Volvo car stereo (SC model) with cd-changer installed.

My 2001 V70XC has a cassette deck and Sony and Radio Shack both sell an adapter so you can play the iPod through a cassette player. It works just fine. I have been using it with my iPod for 3 years.

Generally there are two methods to do that (it works with any portable music device that has a headphone jack).

The first is to use a casette adaptor. This looks like a casette tape but has a cord coming off of it. Just put it in to play as a normal casette and plug the cord into the player. These are self powered (no batteries). See

for example. Generally thesesell for about about $15-20. The Other method is to get an FM transmitter. It plugs into the headphone jack and transmite the signal to the FM radio without wires. These are powered by batteries or power adaptors. On batteries they are truly wireless so once turned on they can be placed in a glove box. Here is one for $30

This is probably thebest alternative for radios that only have a CD player and no casette. Some radios come with an input jack in the face so a jumper cord (stereo male to male) is all that is needed.

Volvo seems to ignore this wanted feature. BMW has a build in feature to support the iPod. Volvo is probably to anxious to offer such a nowaday option. The iPod is a worldwide very succesful mp3 player. Volvo knows about the issue, but just doesn't seem to put any effort in developing a interface (or whatever) to use the iPod in a Volvo. Just an aux in would do, but no....
