problems with car imobilizer

can some one please help me?

Car - Volkswagen Golf GTI imobilizer - sigma M800

have had the car for a week and everything running fine untill today... i managed to start it and it cut out on me, i tried again and again and again and ....nothing! locked the damn thing and left it for about 20 min and tried again...bingo! i then turned off the ignition and have not been able to re start ir since.... i am at the end of my tether...if any one has any understanding of this problem i would be more than gratefull for your advice!

Had exactly same problem with my Volvo. They thought it was either the chip in the key or the receiver in the ignition. Turned out the ignition barrel was on its way out and had it replaced (way overpriced but what choice do you have?). Seems OK now.

Try using a different key. May need a new halo ring. Find someone with a VAG com or VAG com software that can read the immobiliser.
