Reset A/C controller?

97 S70 with manual A/C.

Was playing around with the low pressure switch connector (foolishly) with the a/c running and now it wont engage. Am not getting a flashing a/c light which I presumed I should have if it had detected a fault, but the compressor now wont engage. System is charged and was working previously.

Any way to interegate the computer and clear any codes without an OBDII scanner? Several igntion cycles for instance?

TIA

What you did should have no effect on anything, unless you managed to damage one of the terminals or the wiring.

Well thats what I thought. I will recheck the 3 pin connector and 3 pins on the pressure switch, the relay and fuse in the engine bay fuse box tomorrow and see if I can re-introduce life into the compressor clutch!

Strange as the a/c light on the climate panel comes on when you press the button as per usual and there is no MIL lamp lit on the dash, as having thought about it, its the engine ECU that controls the compressor clutch rather than the climate panel. It also receives the signal from the pressure switch and the condensor temp switch in order to fire up the rad fan...

I could do with a detailed wiring diagram of the climate / ECU / compressor layout, as the haynes manual doesnt show it if anyone has one?!?!

Actually the 3 pin switch is for the high pressure. And it's not actually a switch, it's a pressure sensitive resistor, the fuel computer uses this info to run the fan on low or high speed or even shut off the A/C if pressure gets too high. The low pressure switch is the one near the firewall.
