Transmission question

I posted another message a couple of days ago about my experience with a dealer ('99 S80 90K service horror story - Volvo of Stamford (CT))



Now I'm wondering what if any damage might have been done to my transmission, driving 800-900 miles in fairly heavy traffic while the transmission was missing 3 quarts ATF. Traffic is rush hour on a congested highway (I-287 & TZ Bridge) - so the speeds range 10mph-80mph-0-40mph, etc.



Also, if there is potential damage would it defeinitely show up right away, as the dealer claims, or can it crop up in the future?

I M H O the dealer owes you a New or rebuilt at the least transmission.

He took life out of the transmission. HE OWES YOU!!

I would say as long as the transmission wasn't slipping at all (that would cause wear on the friction material), then any problem would show up immediately due to poor lubrication. I don't think that anybody could really say for sure one way or the other, though.
