I just finished installing some new brake calipers and rotors on my
240. I had ordered some new rotors from VolvoWorld (vlvworld.com about a month and a half ago and they arrived promptly.
Unfortunately, when I got around to doing the brake job, I didscovered that the calipers were in pretty bad shape and needed replacing as well and since VolvoWorld didn't have any listed at their website, I tried to get them locally.
I ordered a pair of calipers about a month ago but the big box chain store somehow ended up getting me two of the same instead of a right and a left. Four re-orders and a month later they still couldn't get it right.
I gave up on that retailer and went to another supplier yesterday (further away from my home than the first store) and had they one caliper in stock, fortunately the one I needed.
So I didn't get around to installing the rotors and calipers until late this afternoon.
When I opened the box from VolvoWorld I discovered a bag of M&Ms stashed between the two rotors. This, in addition to Volvoworld charging me only $20 for shipping, even though the postage sticker on the box showed that they paid $43.80 to ship the package to me.
Not only that, on the Customs declaration sticker, VolvoWorld declared the value of the rotors to be $12 each, which saved me a fair amount on cross-border duty charges and federal and provincial sales tax (15%) .
The bag of M&Ms was the straw that broke the camels back and compelled me to post this message. Three thumbs up for VolvoWorld.
