All - Have now moved the engine from my 16v to the old 8v Golf GTi. Have moved loom and all seems at home and in place in its new home......
But....16v will not start. Initially the pumps would not prime the system when the ignition was turned.I mangaed to get this to work today and it now primes but I don't seem to have a spark! The coil has an ignition controlled positive and has a negative too - have I missed something obvious?
Has anyone done this conversion before (to a Mk1 or a Mk2 Golf ) and have any suggestions? It's so nearly there now and it's just not catching!
