83 Rabbit blown resistor pack

I would head to the junk yard first. If you don't find what you need there, perhaps you could take the resistors from a more recent resistor pack and fit them into the holder that you have?

When mine went bad it wasn't the resistor section (the loops of wire) ... it was the thermal overload device. Radio Shack sells these overload devices in their electronics section to replace them on household appliances. Take the pack in and see if they can match one up.

While you're at it I'd suggest checking the fan. IIRC the fan motor may be binding, or a bearing may be seizing, overloading the resistor pack and causing it to burn out. If the fan is stiff, I think it's possible to get a little oil in it to help free things up, else it means a new fan as well. When I had my '84 rabbit, the pack went once, the new one didn't last long. After fixing the fan the next one lasted as long as I had the car i.e much longer than the previous one.
