89 GTI "airbox boot" needed

Jun 23, 2004 4 Replies

Hi all,

i am in need of the "airbox boot" and intake tube that come from the top of the fuel distributor to the throttle body. The two curved ends are rubber, and the center tube is harder plastic. I have tried to source them on a few discount vw parts websites, but have had no luck!!

Am i better off going to the dealer??

Maybe someone on here has what i need???

thanks

Actually roger, i think that might be what i am needing. Although, i'm not sure about the flange that goes to the throttle body. My engine is cis-e

16v..... and i dont believe that mine has the "hose" coming out of the side of that flange...........perhaps you could give me a little more info on what thats off of......

you looking to get rid of it???

How much.......?

I might be able to use the rest of it..........

let me know...

thanks

On my '87 GTi 8V (CIS-e) I just found out that I do have that flange by the throttle body. You can't easily see it with your eyes when the duct is in the car, you have to look with your fingers.

It was off a Cabby, not quite sure of the year, should have been a 1.7L engine.
