95'Golf Cabrio Coolant leak

Jan 28, 2004 2 Replies

Hi,

I'm in the process of replacing the Cooling Hose Flange on the right side of the engine due to the fact that a leak has developed between the Flange and the engine. I would appreciate some assistance.

How do I drain the coolant without just letting it run out onto the ground? Is there a drain plug on the radiator somewhere?

Is there a torque spec for tightening down the Flange? I would like to try this first without breaking the Flange before replacement.

Thanks!

david

NO drain plug so a pan works well.

6mm bolts are about 4 to 5 ft/lbs. Do it by feel! Put some RTV sealer on o-ring to help things out

unclip one of the clips coming out of the coolant tank on the top, then point it down into a bottle. Then unclip the bottom clip of the coolant tank and drain it into a bottle???
