I have a 95 golf that increases the engine speed when I change gear(manual). The dealer said it could be either the dashpot( $78.00) or a valve controlling the air flow/vacuum line? ( $211.00). Does anyone have any ideas how to confirm one way or the other? Both options are an expensive gamble! Thanks.
