I have a 97 Pissat TDI with an engine chech light on. I had it checked by someone that says that he cleared all codes but the light still would not go out. Any ideas what I should look for. Could it be an O2 sensor? Or what?

If the lights on then there has to be fault codes.
I agree but I don't have access to that information. I am looking to buy this car and asked that the dealer have the fault light repaired BEFORE I purchase. He had it checked by his mechanic. It is going to a VW dealer tomorrow. I was wondering what the possible problem could be and what $$$ we could be looking at.
