I found a shop that sells Ansa VW replacement mufflers, and was wondering if these are comparable to the Bosal mufflers that previous posters recommended.
Ansa mufflers are any good?

lists both Bosal and Ansa mufflers for your car. The Ansa mufflers are a few dollars cheaper. This suggests that they are similar in design and performance.

I've got an Ansa muffler sitting in my garage waiting to go on my '89 Jetta.
Italian made and high quality steel. Very heavy duty. Have not yet checked the fit but appears good.
