I had an old beetle that was great for off road driving once and it was rear whell drive and the new beetle is front whell drive so it should be even better for this. Does any body use thier new beetle off the road?

I had an old Beetle and now a new one. Given the choice for off road, I would pick the old one first.
Let me put it this way... I've replaced several oil pans from where people did go off road.
However, there was that Dune Concept Beetle.
That would be cool ! Hope they make some.

Part of the reason the old beetle was so good off road, was that it was air cooled, the engine was over the rear traction tires, it has many aftermarket parts available, they were cheap to fix and had a huge following and 50 year race history.
