dashboard squeak

Hi drivers-

Last summer, some fellow kindly ripped the stereo out of the dashboard of my 89 Jetta. The damage wasn't too bad, it was clear that he had bent the dash in a couple of places trying to pry out the radio, but there were only a few cracks visible. I could live with it. Now that it's getting colder, though, there are some temperatures when the dash starts squeaking like anything. With the glove box and the center console out I can wiggle the dash and duplicate the squeak.

So the question is, is there any way that I can tighten the dash without removing all of the AC and ducting behind the glove box?

My Bentley is in storage, so I have consulted the wisdom of the internet oracle.

Thanks - Chris

There are 4 mounting studs with nuts on them that are accessible under the rain tray. Inside there are two bolts at the bottom edge of the dash that attach to brackets and there is one bolt at each end of the dash. My dash used to squeak and rattle horribly. Tightening up the hardware made a world of difference.
