ECM reflash

I have a 2000 Jetta 2.0. A while ago there was a recall involving oxygen sensors and ECM reflash. Can I use a VAG to see whether my ECM has been updated? What should I look for?

Yes check the part number of the ECU and it should end with at least one letter as a "J".
