Researching new tires on the internet is frustrating, to say the least
-- owner reviews at sites can range from "horrible" to "excellent" on the same tire.
Well, for what it's worth, I've had a set of B.F.Goodrich Traction T/A tires on my Jetta for a couple months now, and have had a chance to test them in all weather conditions -- it finally snowed here enough this morning to count.
They are excellent in all respects. Comfortable, soft, quiet ride. Excellent wet and dry traction, and very good snow traction. Despite the soft ride, cornering is very good. I recommend them highly.
The contrast with the Michelin Energy MXV4s that were on it reminds me again how much I dislike Michelin tires. Which is funny, I guess, considering that Goodrich is owned by Michelin.
Set of four, balanced and mounted, 195-65HR 15, cost me $375.
