leaky rear brakes

My 90 fox has a leak at the right rear brake, and I'm adding fluid as needed, but I don't know - will the leak get worse, and can that happen suddenly? The brakes are spongier than they have been. also, I'm adding Valvoline SynPower to a system that already has some SL (German) fluid in it, as well as some of the old fluid that I never got a chance to flush out.

The Valvoline says it's DOT 3 and 4 compatible, and suitable for ABS systems, so it sounds like it's better than the cheap brand.

Is the Valvoline really any better, and will my leak suddenly get worse?

TIA Tom Seattle

P.S. the parts won't be here for a week.

Don't mess with a braking problem and don't drive the car until fixed. Remember trees and big trucks are harder than a Fox! Yes you could loose your braking ability to avoid an accident!

Wheel cylinder is probably bad.

It will get worse.

The brake shoes are probably already coated with fluid.

It is very dangerous, not only to you but to anyone driving near you.

Stop now and get it fixed.

I got it fixed today, I figured it wasn't going to get any better and probably not even stay the same. And the parts they pulled out were coated in brake fluid.
