I went to the dealership to get a new key made for my New Beetle today. They called me up at home and told me that I need a new fuel pump relay. They asked if it had been running bad lately. I told them not to put a new one in it since I haven't had any problems. Can someone tell me what the symptoms of a bad fuel pump relay might be and why they would suspect that I need a new one? They wanted $122 to replace it which I though seemed high.
Also, our car is a 2000 New Beetle with the 2.0L engine. It is quite sluggish below 3000rpm. Especially when starting from a stand still. Is this normal for these car/engine combos?
Thanks, Gary
