i've a friend who owns a 2000 new beetle. recently, the driver's side low- beam headlight went out. we replaced the bulb with an H1-55 bulb, and changed the fuse (confirmed which fuse with the card diagram and by yanking out the fuse to the working headlight, then replacing the other fuse of the pair). no go. low beam still doesn't work, but both high beams work.
any suggestions as to what to check/replace next?
this is driving me bananas!
