Passat Clutch Pedal Went Limp?

Jan 29, 2004 1 Replies
1995 Passat Vr6 clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed. I replaced the slave, it did bleed but still won't build preasure. How can I check if it's the master or the preasure plate/clutch assy.

Did it lose fluid and then you lost pedal? Check the brake reservoir, I think it pulls fluid out of it. Your brake light would have lit up on the dash IIRC! If not then your slave might have been leakfree. :-o

If you had fluid and the slave cylinder is not moving, then I would suspect internal leaks in the clutch master. Of course if the slave is moving then you might have problems with the clutch or other hardware. :-(

later and let us know, dave
