Probably not. VW uses a straight spline not a tapered spline. A good smack from behind with your hands should pop it loose. Careful not to smack yourself in the nose with the wheel :)

put the nut back on a few turns before pulling so it acts as a stop in case the wheel suddenly pops loose.
Nut size is 24 mm, which is almost exactly 15/16". I know because I had to enlist a tire iron for the job . . . not difficult, but heed the advice above. H2Only
