Yes but it's not likely to be one that says "BRAKE" on it, which is required. The icon itself is not US-legal. So you'd have to replace/modify it. Stuff like that is what I was referring to.
But you should learn to like it. With the rate of functional illiteracy higher than in europe and still on the rise...

why can't canada settle on one language?
Although I can see that if an icon lit up on your dash, you may need to consult a manual to see what it means. If the word lights up, there's no question what it means. And unlike Canada or Europe, the US does not officially have to cater to many languages, so there's no linguistic reason we can't use a word instead of an icon.
The first light I sought after disabling after I got my car. Not VW nor anyone else is going to tell me when to shift.
word spelled out for them? I mean, Canada, Europe and the rest of the world get by with a symbol, why does the U.S. require things spelled out?
I think it's sort of stupid too. Icons are fine...most are generally recognizable and standardized by now anyway.
However I do admit that I had some trouble with the cruise control icons in our 3-series BMW. This is the first car I've been in where the cruise control uses icons and not words. However the icrons are not very specific. Other than figuring out the icons have to do with the cruise control, it's not that clear which one is on versus set versus resume, etc.
But to me, the brake icon is very understandable...don't need the word IMHO.
THANK YOU!!!!
Going back to the cruise control...I recall a Ford Windstar that my Dad had as a company van had cruise control, and the icon for cruise control was a speedometer with a lock....somewhat sensible IMHO....me thinks that on new VWs they just use the word "CRUISE"

We may not be able to read as well, but we can still make rockets and computers.
