Now that is a nice example... not... I drove a Smart once and it handles like a shopping cart with a side note that a shopping cart handles better through corners...

Nimble handling is as much a requirement for a "city car" as for any other sort, handy for avoiding potholes, pedestrians, cyclists, idiots who open their doors into traffic, you name it.

This statement:

What danger is that? Oil dependence? Natural global warming? Man-caused global warming? Cow farts? Wars "over oil"? Endangered species? Or something else?

Well, I did mention the word "ecology". That should have given you a clue. Anyway, the general health of our planet is not good. There will be serious consequences within our lifetimes if people do not wake up and fix the problem at the international level. If you are not aware of what the problems are (and they have been widely discussed within our scientific community for several years now), you really owe it to yourself and your loved ones to start reading up on the subject. For starters, I suggest that you go to Google and do a search on "ecology", "global warming", and "ozone layer". You will find information written by ethical scientists, as well as garbage from those with an agenda. Hopefully you will have no trouble distinguishing between the two.
