I have got a reasonable offer for an A8 4.2Q TT5, built May 2002, which came off lease and is sitting at my trustworthy dealer, waiting for someone to pick it up.
These cars are not very popular where I live (Austria) because we like to have diesels. :-)
That's why the offer is pretty fair considering the low mileage.
It's got ~98.000 km (little more than 60k miles) had only one previous owner and is coming with a full service history.
It appears that previous problems with A8s hadn't been settled, as the car only recently received a new gearbox.
Brakes need replacement and dealer will do that of course.
Now: I did some research on audiworld and I also checked back in this newsgroup but there were no reports affecting models of that model year. 2002 was IIRC the last year they built that shape (D2).
Can anybody point me to the issues these cars usually have? Does anybody have first hand experience with such a car? Maintenance? I won't be doing a lot of DIY due to time reasons and lack of garage.
