1992 LeBaron speedometer repair

1992 LeBaron Convertible electronic sweep needle type speedometer works OK but both mileage odometers stopped working just after pushing reset button on trip odometer. This unit is not mechanically cable driven. Electronics include a little motor with gears inside clear plastic shields. No apparent dirt or particles on gears. Some elecronic parts are accessible on printed circuit board. Should be a simple fix without exorbitant dealer price to get exchanged. Spinning the right front wheel on this 3.0 engine LX model showed resistance change pulses at three wire plug in point on cluster board behind speedometer. Also, would a totally electronic display cluster unit directly plug in for this convertible? xwb777
