Chrysler LeBaron Won't Start

Mar 17, 2007 5 Replies

I have a 93 Chrysler LeBaron that won't start the codes are 12 and 55 I was driving and it stalled. I checked the fuse lines and there is no fuel flowing. Before I change the fuel pump is there any other fuses or relays I can check. I checked under the hood and those fuses look good. Before this happened the car used to stall but always started up.

Thanks

Bill

You should not have to worry about any relays until you have actually checked the fuel pump circuit. Volt meter in hand, check for 12 volts when the key is turned to the start position. Keeping in mind that you will only have a 3 sec to get a reading before the ASD relay shuts down the system. Have someone turn key on while you are testing it. if it has 12v check for a good ground. Sometimes you can hit the bottom of the tank and the pump will kick on.

I took the host of the filter that is near the tank. And then we had the car crank while I looked at the hose. There was no gas coming from the tank. I checked the relays and thay look good. I have not tested the pump yet. I tryied to pound the tank hoping that will work. Also if I have to remove the tank to change the pump can I just lower the tank without removing the gas. It looks like a big job.

Thanks for you help

Once again check for 12 volts and a good ground at the tank

If you have to drop the tank, your best bet is to siphon the gas. I hate it when my fuel pump dies with the tank full....
