I have a Ford KA (1998) And when you take your foot off the accelerator pedal it will carry on revving and is so bad that at times it will drive "itself" as the revs are so high. It has been in the garage twice and they still don't know what is wrong. Can anybody help?

Check out the idle speed control valve, with luck it'll just want cleaning. Then there's the potentiometer on the air flow meter, again may just want a clean.
