Ford KA headlamp unit Condensation

My Daughters Ford Ka has heavy condensation in the offside headlamp unit. I cant see any damage so I suspect it is due to the seals deteriorating. Is there a quick fix or do I have to replace the unit? By the way, what is the cost if one of these?

If it clears within ten minutes of use of the lights, forget about it. Ford specify that as a standard, and a new light could be the same.

Try removing it and running a bead of clear silicone sealant around the seal between the glass and the body.

There are a few "get arounds." Running with the lights on works, using a hairdrier is supposed to work, or buy a new suitcase... and use the dessicant behind the lightbulb.

Has a lamp recently been replaced? The seals can be _real_ swines to put back in the same spot.

As I recall they're around £75 a corner...

This is how I tackled a similar problem on my Cavalier

Waited for a hot sunny day

Removed headlamp.

Placed on a surface (the hedge in my case) facing the sun.

When thoroughly dried out - ran seek 'n seal around the edges of the glass.

Re-fitted.

No more problems
