He's unlikely to ship an engine to anywhere for £1.75!

That's the problem with eBay! I've just registered, someone puts on the type of bull bar I'm looking for and the closing date is the day I'll be returning from Peterborough. Bloody Typical!!!

As no one has bid yet I could revise the auction closing date back a day ...

Paul, Sorry I havent got back before, but I've been busy all week. I shall be at the LRO show on Saturday and it doesn't look like you are going to get a bid, so if you have room to bring it with you and you ring my mobile 0771

385 3614, I'll have a look at it there. Cheers, John

We're not going to the LRO show: we've got landies to fix. So it looks like it's going for UKP1 to someone else.

Even at 2.20 it looks like a pretty solid bargain for someone!

Yup. The winner lives in Norwich too, which is only just up the road relatively speaking so his fuel cost (although somewhat more than the cost of the roo bars ;-)) shouldn't be tooooooo bad.

The engine (which went for UKP46 in the end after six days of sitting at UKP2) went to someone in France, but they have a plan apparently.

Yes, I was going to have it, but I didn't want it at too much. After all, I do have an engine already, just a usefull spare one really.

Mind you, I wouldn't fancy the fuel consumption of fitting the engine, if I had a bare chassis I'd fit something a bit more economical.

Indeed. I don't think anyone would choose that engine if starting from scratch: all the performance of the 2.25 with the fuel economy of the 3.5V8.

But if you've got a 2.6 in your pride and joy already and you want to keep the landie authentic then a spare is always handy. You would have got most of the ancilliaries too now I come to think of it, other than the alternator. Damn, really should have mentioned that in the advert.
