Catalytic Converter quick fix

I posted a question a few days ago regarding a catalytic converter faul

on my R reg (97) Ford mondeo 2.0i. I was very kindly given some quic fix solutions however the question i have now is: How do i split th cat from the exhaust at the center box, i've had a look and both th securing nuts seem to be welded, is this the case and if so how do get them apart

usually there is a welded nut with a bolt .

an angle grinder is the way, replace with a loose nut and bolt.

As above. Replacement bolts are pennies. An angle grinder with disc is only about 20 quid. If you don't want to do that, a junior hacksaw should do it. Albeit half an hour later ...
