Cavalier fanbelt

An L registration cavalier:

Does the engine mounting need to come off to replace the fanbelt? The car has a power steering pump as well. Or, is it a straight forward job?

Straight forward. Bit tight for space though.

Do you mean the engine mount doesn't need to come off?

Depends on the engine fitted to the vehicle. If it's a 1.8/2.0 8V petrol, then the belt runs through the mounting which has to be removed and split to replace the belt.

1.7TD is reaosnably straight forward. Can't remember what the 16V models are like to do.
