fault code reader/clearer

Does anyone know of any low cost handheld code readers that can also clear fault codes after you've serviced your car? Its a bit of a PITA for me because I dont have a laptop so cant use my elm327 easily without having to take my massive tower-pc closer to the car.

Autel maxiscan 509 does all I need. Its cheap and cheerful.

John formulated the question :

Autel - built in display and you can connect it to a PC to download data and issues.

Weird. Huge range of prices on eBay, cheapest seem to be on some of the car specialist sites rather than eBay. Anyone recommend suppliers or comment on other models?

The software is available on file sharing sites.

Be aware that there are some very convincing fake Autel units about, I was caught out by one, but managed to get a full refund after a fight.

A lot of the readers on ebay are being sold by 'chancers', who know that they can be bought relatively cheaply, but some bozos won't look further than ebay and simply pay whatever's the going rate for that site.

From £45.99 - £106 new. Amazon a lot more reputable than ebay too.

I think there are some that use a blue tooth connection rather than a serial cable, if that helps?

Micheal used his keyboard to write :

That is the problem - you can't, they are very good copies.

The one I bought first was a second hand one and it just did not work fully. Checking it with Autel they identified it as a fake - so I sent it back for a refund.

The second one was new and genuine, but side by side I would not have been able to tell them apart.
