Ford Fiesta 1.8D and Bio Diesel

I have a ford fiesta diesel 1.8D model '95 (Mk3 I think) and I would like to know if owner of same car experimented bio diesel with it.

I live in Milton Keynes and at the Tesco in Kingston there is an outlet delivering bio diesel (blend ULSD 95% - 5% bio). I was wondering if it would work fine, no long term effect on the engine.

Cheers.

B5 blend meets BS EN590, the UK diesel spec. In theory, you can just use it.

I would have thought only 5% bio would have very little effect?

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Malc" saying something like:

None whatsoever, save helping the engine burn just a little cleaner and perhaps keeping the pump a little extra lubricated.

In France you would be hard pressed to find anywhere that isn't 5% biodiesel. It meets the relevant standard so is OK to use in any specified for DERV.

My Citroen BX expresses a clear preference for B5 blend.

They tend to run a bit smoother even with as little as 5% in it. I took the OP to mean any detrimental effects - in which case, none.
