Pug 306 alarm problem

My Pug alarm goes off by itself every 5 mins or so, looking through some old posts on this ng I found this; "Dealer wants to replace ultrasonic sensors inside the car. And they say this might turn out not to be the problem, but they will only find out by doing the job! The problem could even be just a loose wire! The alarm goes off within 5 minutes of being set, but not if the ultrasonics are disabled on exiting the car." but no follow up as to how you solve it. It seems to happen to a few peugeot owners, does anyone know how to cure it?

I recently had an "alarm goes off every few minutes" problem which turned out to be a Daddy Longlegs that had got into the car and was periodically waking up and flying around!

Perhaps your dealer could retro-fit a spider or two in your car as a precautionary measure?

by the alarm unit itself other problems involved indicators staying on all the time and melting the light fittings, water ingress into the roof sensors(via the aerial base),bonnet switches falling off and remotes malfunctioning if i was in your shoes i would have the original removed and bypassed and an after market remote alarm fitted with central locking control.........mail me if you need any info on removal and bypass
