Dont be silly!
The SPI throttle body is down draught and has the injector / stepper motor / air temp sensor all combined in a single unit and is 'wet'.
The MPi throttle body is either cast alloy or plastic and is a dry side draught design.
So no to answer your question, they're *completely* different.

Steady on, Tim. OK, so I'm silly.
Can the throttle potentiometer be cleaned at all?
You may have some luck with careful cleaning with some carb cleaner / brake cleaner, but dont expect to get a huge amount more life out of it.
