M130.920 cylinder head - what torque?

Hi,

Does anyone know the exact procedure for putting on a cylinderhead of an M130.920 engine? (6 cylinders, gasoline)

Anything else after applying the torque (in steps), for example?

Hi Martijn,

for a 280S :-) (and all other M130 engines) cold engine M10 (14x) bolts 10 mkp = 98 Nm warm engine M10 (14x) bolts 11 mkp = 108 Nm

small M8 (5x) bolts torque with 2.5 kpm

1 mkp = 1 kpm = 1 kg*m= 9.8 Nm

oil the thread. + heads + rings lightly.

Order: Work from the inside out. fasten the outer site of the engine the latest.:

First inner 2 than the 2 next to it starting with the distribution site. (that is bolts fastened)

2 bolts directly next to the fastened bolts at the distribution site again and then the opposite site.

  1. fasten in the correct order (torque for cold engine) 20 degrees Celsius)

  2. start the engine heat water temperature to 80 degrees Celsius. keep it running for 5 minutes. retighten in correct order to the given torque for warm engine.

  1. retighten again after 300-1000km, untighten ONE bolt and retighten to spec. then the next bolts ONE by ONE.

Good luck,
