I agree there really is only one party. Those who believe that the parties are truely different are mistaken. There can be little doubt when you have the same corporations contributing to "both" parties. When you have a republican administration deficit spending at a pace greater than any democrat, it is ever amusing to read postings about liberals vs. conservatives. Yes, we have the finest polticians that money can buy.

But you really want to run your mercedes on biodiesel? Are you going to put a preheater in your secondary biodiesel fuel tank? I've read that you have to run diesel #2 thru the engine before shut down or you end up with solid biodiesel in your fuel lines after cool down. No easy way to restart those diesels.

They're doing it exactly as they should. Get the testimony from the small fry and move up the food chain.

You want to equate a $200K stock deal with a $40,000,000,000 company? Glad the PROFESSIONALS are handling both. Jeesh.

Chas Hurst didn't write the first line or an other line above. Having said that; there's no reason why "biodiesel" need be used in a car. We can save just as much money by using it in stationary situations like heating or generating electricity. And let us not forget the first countries to run out of domestic oil loose and loose big time. We should pump out Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and send them back to what ever they were doing before they sold oil for a living.

And we saw how successful that was, right?

You might as well blame Carter for the opec policy of the time. Although, his policy was likely a reaction to opec policy. Now there is one less vote on opec since we "liberated" Iraq. Oh well, they wanted to sell their oil for euros instead of american dollars anyway. Perhaps, oil prices will drop if we liberate another oil producer?

I propose that we "liberate" Texas. Destroy their police forces, open the prisons, eliminate whatever semblance of civil order they have; close the hospitals; and encourage the citizens to turn to piracy, random violence, and anarchy. In the end, I;m sure they will thank us for it. While we are at it, we can pay Halliburton to being them gasoline from Louisiana for, say, $4.00 a gallon.

I think USA Gov has a fascination with the bottom of the well.

You clearly missed the point. Niether Reagan nor Bush 41 nor Clinton had an energy policy. Will the left - wing socialists impose an energy policy on us while Dubya is president?

Do you read the news? CFO Andrew Fasdow and his wife were indicted months ago. Just a few days ago CEO Jeff Skilling was indicted. There's an excellent chance Ken Lay will be indicted too, though all the knowledgable lawyers I have heard on TV indicate that the case against him is much more questionable and harder to prove. And who exactly was dragging the Feds kicking and screaming to do anything? As I recall, they were all over Enron as soon as it became apparent that crimes might have occured.

Comparing Enron to Martha Stewart's case has little merit. One is a very complex case of convoluted fraudulent finanacial deals that takes a lot of time to sort out. The other is a simple case of lying to investigators over a stock tip. Which is better, taking the time to develop the cases correctly so that you get a conviction, or just bringing it quickly to make it seem like something is being done?

Well I agree with you that he SHOULD be. But he is NOT named in the Skilling indictment, and the mealy-mouthed prosecutor said nothing to indicate he should be scared. Prosecuting Martha (whom by the way I have no use for generally) reminds me of the guy who is looking under the streetlamp for his missing contact lens- not because that is where he dropped it, but because the light is better there!

Wake up and smell the Deisel #2. Goerge W has an energy policy. It exists but we have to guess what it is. Not that it takes much imagination to know that it's not a good thing for the open market or for taxpayers in general.

Left wing socialists? Would those be the people in both major parties providing corporate sweet heart deals and subsidies to their friends in exchange for contributions to their re-election campaigns?

Of course Dubya has an energy policy. You are the one whining about left wing socialists, not me.

Yeah! And while we're at it, put the lead back in. Some people clearly haven't been getting enough.

That's old news. Ultra-low-sulfur Diesel fuel, mandated in the US starting July

2006, cuts particulate emissions to near zero. Sequestering plant fibre waste from BioDiesel in landfills or the sea creates a net reduction of atmospheric CO2.

I just wish I could buy a Diesel-electric hybrid car now, instead of a Prius. Ten years hence this technology could wean us completely from Saudi oil.

Say what? You end nearly every one of your posts with your whining about left wing socialists who will raise your fuel prices. I'm still trying to determine who they might be. Do you have multiple personalities? No doubt you write your postings from a computer in your padded room at the hospital.

Well it's my turn to apologise. Stan de SD is the whiner, not you. These threads get stacked up and make attribution difficult. But my multiple personalities are really none of your concern.

market do it.

By that rule of thumb you should stop interfering in the Middle East where you get an ever increasing proportion of your oil.
