Diesel Injector Cleaner

I have been advised by a diesel diagnostic specialist (First Diesel in South London) to try an injector cleaner additive to see if it will clear a suspected blocked injector before booking a diagnostic session. The car a Focus MKII TDCi 2004 is suffering from rough idle after it has warmed up. He said to make sure to use a cleaner which is compatible with the injector technology used on the car.

I just rang a Ford service department to ask what injector cleaner Ford recommend - they didn't know and said they don't get involved with additive injector cleaners.

Anyone care to make a recommendation or are all brands much of a muchness?

I don't know if these are 'snake-oils' or not, but they are probably talking about something like BG244 or Redex. Whether they actually do anything, I've no idea. I doubt that they could actually unblock something, unless they are talking about a partial blockage that just needs a clean.

The taxi drivers who frequent the local factors seem to like a product called 'Fuel Guard'. Thought fuel had cleaning additives these days anyway?
